Hi

I’m

Salma

El Qorashy

a UX/UI designer finishing my Bachelor’s in Digital Design at Egypt University of Informatics (graduating 2026). I’m the type of designer who actually reads the user research before opening Figma. I care about the people behind the screens: their frustrations, their habits, and their “why is this so hard” moments.

How I Make the Magic Happen

How I Make the Magic Happen

How I Make the Magic Happen

Click to see the method behind the madness.

Click to see the method behind the madness.

Step 01
I Become Your Users' Best Friend
+
I dive deep into the brains of your users. I'm talking interviews, surveys, and lurking where they hang out. I put on their shoes, walk a mile in them, and try not to get blisters. If I don't know what makes them tick (and what makes them want to throw their phone across the room), I'm not doing my job.
Step 02
Connecting the Dots
+
Now that I've gathered all the 'he said, she said,' I filter out the noise. I turn a mountain of chaotic feedback into a clear Problem Statement. Basically, I figure out exactly what we're fixing so we don't end up building a high-tech solution for a problem that doesn't exist.
Step 03
The 'No Bad Ideas' Brain Dump
+
This is where the coffee kicks in. I sketch, I scribble, and I brainstorm like a whirlwind. We explore the wild ideas, the boring ideas, and the 'so crazy it might work' ideas. It's all about quantity here, we'll polish the gems and toss the rocks later.
Step 04
It's Alive! (The Franken-Design)
+
I turn those sketches into something you can actually click. Whether it's a low-fi wireframe that looks like a blueprint or a 'hi-fi' masterpiece that looks like the final product, this is where the vision gets real. It's the 'look but don't touch, wait, actually, please touch' phase.
Step 05
The Reality Check
+
The moment of truth. I put the prototype in front of real humans and watch them use it. If they get stuck, I don't blame them, I blame the design. I take all that constructive criticism (humble pie, anyone?), go back to the drawing board, and tweak it until it's butter-smooth.

When I’m not thinking about user flows

𓎩Kitchen mode

I'm probably in the kitchen testing a new recipe. Baking is my reset button — there's something deeply satisfying about following a process and ending up with something you can actually eat.

𓍯𓂃Analog by choice

I crochet, journal on paper, and would rather flip through a cookbook than scroll a recipe site — anything that keeps my hands slow and busy over anything digital.

⌕Non-negotiable

if I don't know how something works or why it's done that way, I have to find out. curiosity isn't optional for me, it's just how I move through things
